Last week I noticed that my Configuration managerClients had not been reporting their Hardware inventory. By checking the inventoryagent.log on some of the Clients, I could see that this was not a Client related issue. Therefore I checked the IIS log file of the MP. There I could see many BITS related Errors - bits_error 0x800070005. Something was wrong with the "...CCM\Incoming" Folder on the Management Point.

Since 19.11.2015 ist the latest configuration Manager technical prievew (Version 5.0.8325.1000) available and can be downloaded here. In order to install this technical preview version the previos Version has to be uninstalled first. Upgrading from Technical Preview 4 to a later version of System Center Configuration Manager is also not supported. Further Information can be found in the official System Center Configuration Manager Team Blog. If your Configuration Manager TP4 clients have Application Package Download Issue here is one possible solution, although I would set the IIS authentication as follows:
Support for older versions of IE ends on January 12, 2016 and only the most current version of IE available for a supported operating system will be supported. Further Information can be found here.
Several Windows 7 x86 Clients suddenly stopped getting deployed updates. The deployed updates were not visible in the Software Center on the Client. Since software could be deployed without any Problems so the Client could talk to MP. A quick look into the WUAHandler.log on the Client and a few "Scan failed error" Errors: 0x8007000e (Not enough storage space) and 0xC80003f3 could be found. The Fix was toran the Server Cleanup Wizard on the SUP and to install the Hotfix KB3050265 on the Client.
When exporting a Task Sequence on Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 with Hotfix KB3084586 (Version: 5.0.8239.1206) the error massage "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" pops up. This happens only when: - an Unattended.xml file is used with the "Apply Operating System" Task sequence step - The "Apply DriverPackage" step exists in the TS and is not disabled. To resolve this isssue you could, before you start TS Export, remove the XML file from the "Apply Operating System" step, disable the "Apply Driver Package" step, or apply the lates Hotfix/CU2 (KB3100144) If you know the Version number (e.g. 5.00.8239.1301) and the build (e.g. 8239) of your ConfigMgr Server and you want to know what exactly Configuration Manager Version ist that simpe visit this Website. There are listed all configmgr versions except Beta and RC.
Microsoft has released a new Configuration Manager Cumulative Update as a Hotfix KB3100144.
Some issues that have been fixed by CU2: - The Configuration Manager Administrator Console closes with a "Null Reference" exception when it tries to export a task sequence that contains an Unattend.xml file and "Apply Driver Package" step. - Automatic site assignment fails on clients in a workgroup. - Discovery Data Manager does not create Client Configuration Request (CCR) files for Windows 10-based computers that are found during Active Directory System Discovery. - Driver package size increases in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager. - Video drivers for Windows 10 are not installed during the Auto Apply Drivers task sequence step. Description of all fixed issues and functionalities as well as link for download can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3100144 |
